How To Upgrade Previous 12c WebCenter Content Versions to 12.2.1.3.0 (Doc ID 2309958.1)

Last updated on JULY 01, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This KM will cover the steps to upgrade previous 12c WebCenter Content servers to 12.2.1.3.0.

Note: This will cover only the WCC Content Server and Inbound Refinery domains and not domains that also have other managed servers in them such as  IPM, WebCenter Portal, or Capture.

However, in a multi application domain, these upgrade steps are essentially the same. In addition to installing the WCC media, the media for the other applications are also required to be installed as part of step C.

Note: Universal Records Management (URM) and Records Adapter is now available on WCC 12C (12.2.1.3)!

URM was not available in previous versions of 12c. However, in 12.2.1.3.0, URM has been rolled into Webcenter Content 12c and can now be enabled directly from WCC 12c managed server.

Please note this is different from 11G URM, where it was installed as its own separate managed server. This means you will not see URM as an install option(managed server) for new installations.

URM is now a records installation level (Universal) to be enabled in addition to the other record installation levels (Standalone, Adapter) from the "Configure Records" feature.

For details see Note: 2080085.1 Is URM/Physical Content Management and Records Adapter Available in WCC 12c?
