Issues registering Directory Servers into DSCC

We have setup a new DSCC server and trying to register the directory instances. The registration is failing.


ERROR

DS Instance Status after registration:

DSCC Operational Status is : "Inaccessible"
It also reports the following error:
Run Modes and Status Operational Status: Warning: Failed to negotiate Start TLS operation
Read/Write Mode: Not available (server not accessible)
Referral Mode: Not available (server not accessible)

Trying to enable the DS instance on DSCC, we get the following error in web interface:

Unexpected error occurred connecting to <DOMAIN>.com. The error is java.lang.SecurityException:

javax.security.sasl.SaslException: PLAIN: Authentication credentials verification failed! [Caused by

javax.security.sasl.SaslException: Authentication failed].
