First Call To Packages Takes Significantly Longer Than Subsequent Calls In A Web Application Using JDBC Connection Pool (Doc ID 2314582.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 01, 2023

Applies to:

JDBC - Version 12.1.0.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A database call to a package via a JDBC connection pool with JDBC 12.1.0.2  is observed to take significantly longer during the first call than subsequent calls.
This delay is causing timeout issues upstream.

It is expected to have about the same time of execution on all calls for the stored procedures to the database using JDBC.
