ADFC-12001 Error Upon Launching an ADF Popup on a Mobile Browser

Symptoms
An ADF application has a page opening a modal popup by using an af:button with windowEmbedStyle="inlineDocument" and windowModalityType="applicationModal" and launching a different Task Flow on the popup window.
When running on a mobile browser or even a desktop browser (e.g.: Chrome) in 'responsive testing' mode, when pressing the button to launch that modal popup error ADFC-12001 is reported client-side and an exception is logged server-side.
