Information in this document applies to any platform.
ADF Desktop Integration (ADFdi) uses an embedded web browser control to render the login page and other web page dialogs. The .NET Webbrowser control is based on and reuses technology from Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE). MSIE supports different compatibility modes (also know as document emulation or document modes). By default, the Windows .NET web browser control used by ADFdi runs in Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7 compatibility mode. Some web pages may not function as expected in this compatibility mode. This document describes a potential workaround that changes the browser's mode and may resolve issues with the rendering and functionality of web pages.

Goal

End users may encounter JavaScript errors, incorrect rendering of HTML, or other functional issues in the ADFdi login dialog, or in other web pages rendered by ADFdi.

One possible solution is to make a Windows registry setting change on the affected client computer to set the default document compatibility mode for the embedded browser control used by ADFdi. This may resolve the issues.
