WebCenter Portal Navigation Links Start Failing With 404 Errors After Running For A Few Days

Symptoms
Some Portal Framework navigation links start failing with 404 after running for a few days. All users will start getting 404 error when accessing the affected navigation link.
ERROR
404 Not Found
FACTS
- Error happens only when accessing the affected page using the navigation link.
- The affected page can be accessed using the direct URL to the page. Issue is specific to the navigation link.
- Editing the navigation and changing the navigation ID for the link solves the issue.
e.g.:
- For WebCenter Portal Spaces:
Edit the Portal, select the affected page get the page information.
Then select the Advanced Tab.
There you can change the ID for the page. - For WebCenter Portal Framework Applications edit the navigation at run time through the Portal Admin UI.
There you can change the ID for the navigation item.
- For WebCenter Portal Spaces:
- Changing modified ID back to the original value causes error again.
