Purpose

This document supplements the Managing Search in WebCenter Portal with Elasticsearch chapter in the guide to Fusion Middleware Administering Oracle WebCenter Portal 12.2.1.3 and 12.2.1.4 until July 2021 Budle Patch. 

Starting Oracle WebCenter 12.2.1.4 with October 2021 Bundle Patch, with the upgrade of Elasticsearch, changes to the installation are documented in Configuring Elasticsearch in WebCenter Portal.

It addresses known issues with installation and configuration of Elasticsearch in WebCenter Portal.

NOTE: PLEASE install the Oracle WebCenter Portal October 2021 Bundle Patch. It upgrades the Elasticsearch to a new and robust version.

Scope

Oracle WebCenter Portal 12c (12.2.1.3.0 and above) supports Elasticsearch, a highly scalable search engine. However, Elasticsearch must be installed and configured in WebCenter Portal for use to search portals and content such as documents, wikis, blogs, page metadata, etc.
