ODI Studio Fails to Authenticate With "[LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials]" Using OID Authentication with OBIA

When trying to connect Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Studio to a repository integrated with Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA) using Oracle Internet Directory (OID) authentication, the following error is consistently thrown:

oracle.odi.core.security.BadCredentialsException: ODI-10199: Incorrect ODI username or password.
oracle.security.jps.JpsRuntimeException: JPS-01520: Cannot initialize identity store, cause: oracle.security.jps.service.idstore.IdentityStoreException: JPS-01520: Cannot initialize identity store, cause: oracle.security.idm.ConfigurationException: javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials]..
