Exalogic Virtual: Does ExaBR Implement Backups Of Multiple Guest vServer targets In Parallel? (Doc ID 2342513.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Goal

You would like to backup a number of Guest vServers using the ExaBR tool provided by Exalogic Lifecycle Tools (EELC) via a command line similar to either of the following:

  1. For guest vServers not using LVM based filesystems:

To minimize the total time needed to complete the backups for all of the vServers identified you were hoping that exabr could initiate the backup of each backup in parallel, following a similar approach to the way that exapatch can initiate patching against multiple Guest vServers in parallel. However, from the time taken and from the output in the exabr.log file (by default created at ~/exabr.log), you see that exabr is backing up each vServer sequentially rather than in parallel.

You would therefore like to know if there is a flag or some other approach that can be used to enable exabr to execute backups from the current node in parallel.
