Last updated on JANUARY 05, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and later

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When making Java calls from Forms when using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT() (RRO) - either to call Oracle Reports or Oracle BI Publisher Reports (BIP) - or imported java, the size of the Forms runtime processes (frmweb.exe) can be significantly reduced by configuring JVM Controllers.  This note demonstrates how to set up basic JVM Controller configuration for 12c Forms.  For the purpose of this document, we will use Oracle Reports as the external Java call target.  The steps are not significantly different from those for 11g as described in <Note 1277681.1>. However, there are new features in 12c that can improve performance.  For detailed documentation see Configuring and Managing Java Virtual Machines.
