Outer Join Not Propagated to Filters in ODI 12.2.1.2.0 Mappings (Doc ID 2344824.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 04, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.2.0 to 12.2.1.3.0 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Even though the steps from <Document 1992737.1> (to properly use outer joins) have been followed, the Create View generated code is missing the Join+Filter, (+).

 To reproduce:

  1. Create a Mapping with an Outer Join and Filter followed by inner join.
  2. Go to ODI Studio > Topology -> Technology -> Oracle -> SQL -> "Not Ordered" -> "Location Clause"
  3. Select "After Join for Column and Filter / Splitter" instead of "After Column Join for Only" (default for ODI 12.1.3)
  4. Observe that the generated code (for the filter) is missing  (+)= and has = instead

Changes

The mapping in question has a filter using outer joins followed by inner joins.
