Slow Performance Of ART MWDB2ORA.STR2DATE Function (Doc ID 2346325.1)

Goal

 User has a SQL query that uses MWDB2ORA.STR2DATE function that takes 6 seconds to complete.  With the same SQL query without that function the execution time of the query dropped to 0.4 second.  This is important to user because user uses batch prgrams that take more than 72 hours to complete if this function is in the SQL query, while without this function it takes about an hour to complete.

Since MWDB2ORA.STR2DATE was developed to grant the compatibility between DB2 and Oracle user does not feel comfortable to remove it from queries without big impact in the result.
