MatchMediaBehavior Tag With PropertyName="visible" And MatchedPropertyValue="false" Does Not Work Correctly

(Doc ID 2349643.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 18, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 12.2.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

MatchMediaBehavior tag with propertyName="visible" and matchedPropertyValue="false" on a panel group layout does not work.  Need to explicitly refresh the page with F5 after changing the resolution to make it work.  This issue reproduces on all the browsers like IE, Chrome and Firefox.

However with propertyName="visible" and matchedPropertyValue="true" it works as expected.

Note:  A workaround is to use JavaScript to refresh / resize the page.

Step by step instructions to duplicate the issue

1) Download and extract MatchMediaSR.zip

2) Then, import MatchMediaSR application to JDeveloper 12.2.1.2.0.

3) Extract ViewController and run untitled.jsf.

Observe the below problematic behavior:

When the browser is in maximizes state, it will display the message :

" This is visible in greater than 600 px size "

2) Now reduce the browser size to less than 600 pixes size. You will see the message :

"This is visible in greater than 600 px size " " This is visible in less than 600 px "

BUT if we reduce the browser size to less than 600px, it has to show only one message:

" " " This is visible in less than 600 px ".

But the expected behaviour is seen only after pressing the F5 button (refresh page).

A similar test can be done for maximized browser state as well.

Screenshots demonstrating the issue have been uploaded here.
