How to Change Default View In Integrated BPM Task List (Doc ID 2350395.1)

Goal

Customer has BPM integrated into WebCenter Portal. They created a custom user view and added it as a standard view using the "Add to Standard Views" checkbox. They want other users to be able select this new custom view as their default view. However, this does not work. When the user selects this new view, the original view is still shown.

The BPM task list is customized with the following parameter:
  <parameter id="viewFilter" value="${'Inbox'}"/>
So I suspect this may be overriding the default view selection.

How can users select the custom view as their default view?
