Goldengate Extract Does not Capture The Complete Number in the Trail File (Doc ID 2359077.1)

Here the scenario is that a column with number datatype had length defined as 10 on target. We took the targetdefs and used the same in the source side and performed a check on the valid values of it. When checked in testing it would always capture the number upto 8 length.

Example in below case was that the trail file had values captured as 12345678 for all 3 records as it was truncating after 8 length.

insert into ggtest.policy_entity (cust_no) values (12345678);
insert into ggtest.policy_entity (cust_no) values (123456789);
insert into ggtest.policy_entity (cust_no) values (1234567890);
