Is There A Way To Hide A Search For All Users In The WebCenter Content: Imaging Client But Use The Same Search In URL Tools? (Doc ID 2364470.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 28, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content: Imaging - Version 11.1.1.9.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

There is a business requirement to hide a WebCenter Content: Imaging search for all users while providing "view" security rights to that particular search.  Currently the Imaging Search URL Tool is being used to execute an Imaging search.

For example:

The Search Name is "SearchApp".  The following URL is used:

http://<hostname>:Port/imaging/faces/Pages/UrlTools.jspx?ToolName=ExecuteSearch&SearchName=SearchApp&VendorNumber=xxxxxxxx&Unit=10

In order for this to work, each respective user needs access to the "SearchApp" search in Imaging. Otherwise it will produce the error "search not found".

If this URL is being invoked from JDE (passing search parameters to URL) and based on security in JDE, the user can search only a particular Unit Invoice. So, security is defined in JDE. But if user directly login to Imaging, they can view and execute this search without any restrictions.

Is there a way to hide this search in Imaging while providing security access to it so that it can only be executed using Search URL Tools?
