ODI Import of Submodel Fails With "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist"

Symptoms
When using the ODIImportObject tool to import a submodel (and other objects) into the same repository as was exported from in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.3.0 or earlier (including 11g), an 'ORA-00942: table or view does not exist' error is returned:
ODI-1217: Session AutoDeploy:/<FILENAME>.xml (90778802) fails with return code 7000.
ODI-1226: Step OdiImportObject 1 fails after 1 attempt(s).
ODI-1241: Oracle Data Integrator tool execution fails.
Caused By: com.sunopsis.dwg.SQLMasterReposException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
