Symptoms

The following message is received when smart exporting an Interface from Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g, and importing into an ODI 12c environment which has the 11g-compatible mode turned ON:

Note the error is received during the smart import phase.

Changes

The original ODI 11g environment has been upgraded to ODI 12c in Compatibility Mode, as explained in Document 2544427.1

Afterward, new artifacts are still being created in the ODI 11g environment, and exported for synchronization / import into the upgraded 12c environment.
