Symptoms

Starting Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 12c instance using nmStart command fails:

wls:/offline> nmConnect(username='<USERNAME>',password='<PASSWORD>',domainName='<DOMAIN>')
Connecting to Node Manager .

Successfully Connected to Node Manager.

wls:/nm/<DOMAIN>> nmStart('oid1')
Starting server oid1 ...
