Symptoms
An update statement on the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) repository takes a great deal of time to execute. This causes severe performance issues in ODI Studio. Developments are slowed down, and the User Interface (UI) is difficult to use due to the latency.
The SQL statement of interest is:
UPDATE SNP_MAP_EXPR_REF set I_MAP_REF_PP = null;
The SNP_MAP_EXPR_REF table contains over 700,000 records and is still growing.
The update is done frequently and takes 15 - 20 seconds.
