Symptoms
On : 12.2.1.1.0 version, Enterprise Scheduling System
You are getting this exception while trying to submit a request using submitRequest operation of ESS Web Service in ESS using SoapUI. Few more things to add on.
-For requestDetail operation, the same user is working fine.
-In the lower environment, the same configuration was working fine.
-It is throwing the same error even for weblogic user, in lower environment weblogic user was working fine.

ValidationException - Failed to authenticate user in ESS
oracle.as.scheduler.ValidationException: oracle.as.scheduler.SchedulerUserAssertionException: Failed to authenticate user [tenant=default,username=XXX].Please make sure XXX is a valid user or check server log to find more authentication details.
STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure the job in ESS
2. Try submitting the job from SOAPUI
3. Fails for the user and also for the weblogic user. This works fine in the lower environment though.
