The purpose of this document is to provide up-to-date information about Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) Bundle Patches for version 12c R2 PS3 (184.108.40.206.x) along with a list of bugs fixed in respective Bundle Patches (BP).
Understanding Bundle Patches
Bundle Patch: A bundle patch is an official Oracle patch for Oracle Unified Directory. The fifth digit in a bundle patch release string indicates the bundle patch number which (effective November 2015) represents the release date in the form "YYMMDD". The first four digits indicate the release to which the bundle patch is applied.
Each bundle patch includes libraries and files that have been rebuilt to implement one or more fixes. All of the fixes in a bundle patch are tested and certified to work with one another. Each bundle patch is cumulative. In other words, the latest bundle patch includes all fixes in earlier bundle patches for the same release.
Bundle Patch Requirements
Ensure that the following requirements are met before applying or removing the bundle patch:
Verify the OUI Inventory after setting the ORACLE_HOME environment variable for OUD.
OPatch needs access to a valid OUI inventory to apply patches. Validate the OUI inventory with the following commands:
When OPatch starts, it validates the patch and makes sure that there are no conflicts with the software already installed in the ORACLE_HOME. OPatch categorizes two types of conflicts:
Conflicts with a patch already applied to the ORACLE_HOME.
In this case, stop the patch installation, and contact Oracle Support Services.
Conflicts with subset patch already applied to the ORACLE_HOME.
In this case, continue the install, as the new patch contains all the fixes from the existing patch in the ORACLE_HOME.
