SQL Developer Data Model - Clarification Surrounding "Model in Single File" Versus "Model in Many Files" (Doc ID 2388957.1)

Last updated on JUNE 24, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler - Version 17.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document will clarify some information surrounding "Model in Single File" versus "Model in Many Files".

This is set in Design Properties -->  Model Persistence.

When Model Persistance property is set to "Model in Single File", it means that for each model there is one file that contains all definitions.

Does one file for each model mean for a single *design* there would be one file for the logical model, one for each relational model, another for each physical model, etc? Or would one design be fully contained in a single file?
