A Couple of Errors are Caught When Applying Critical WLS Patch 27419391 (Doc ID 2389541.1)

Symptoms

1 The following Error occurs using opatch lsinventory or apply.

OPatch failed with error code 255

Home name= OracleHome, Location= "/apps/oracle/product/12.1.3/" Inventory load failed... OPatch cannot load inventory for the given Oracle Home. Possible causes are: Oracle Home dir. path does not exist in Central Inventory Oracle Home is a symbolic link Oracle Home inventory is corrupted

2 OPatch failed with error code 73

After fixing error 1 above,  "opatch apply" throws "JAVA_HOME is not defined" error even $JAVA_HOME is defined and "echo $JAVA_HOME" displays the JAVA_HOME value correctly in the same Unix shell where the opatch apply command is executed.

The same identical opatch script runs fine in other environment on different machine.
