ODSEE - Some Custom Attributes Are Not Shown In Ordered Ldapsearch (Doc ID 2394992.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.1.7.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running ldapsearch without specifying what columns to show, ldapsearch output is containing all the not null attributes (including custom attributes).
However, when specifying particular attributes to be shown in some particular order, sometimes some attributes are not shown.

i.e.

Good ldapsearch output:
./ldapsearch -p 2389 -s sub -b ou=People,dc=example,dc=com -D "cn=directory manager" -w <PASSWORD> 'customguid=<GUID>' customgn customgivenname

customguid=<GUID>
customgn=<GIVENNAME>
customgivenname=<GIVENNAME>

Bad ldapsearch output:

ldapsearch -p 2389 -s sub -b ou=People,dc=example,dc=com -D "cn=directory manager" -w <PASSWORD> 'customguid=<GUID>' customgivenname customgn

customguid=<GUID>
customgivenname=<GIVENNAME>

Normally, the order of the requested attribute should not influence the existence of attributes in the result.
