Receive Error After Securing WebCenter Portal Connection to Content Server with SSL: "Unable to initialize connection idcs://server:port - Password must not be null" (Doc ID 2396164.1)

Symptoms

Securing the WebCenter Portal Spaces Connection to Content Server with SSL results in the following exception during the login to WebCenter Portal:

The content server shows the inbound provider set up as 'good' and the content repository connection set up within portal shows a successful connection test.  After restarting the portal managed server to apply the change and attempting to log back into the interface, the above message occurs.

Document Tool is unavailable message displays when accessing the documents tab.
