CDATA Element Not Generated in XSL Transformation (Doc ID 2398612.1)

Last updated on MAY 14, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version 11.1.1.7.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.1.1.7.8 version, BPEL Service Engine

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
An XML message contains special characters, such as '&','<' and '>'. In a BPEL transform activity, xsl:output is used with cdata-section-elements to enclose data containing these characters in a CDATA tag. After generation, the target XML does not show the data enclosed in the tag.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The same XML message run through a different IDE generates the desired output.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. BPEL executes the transformation.
2. Pass through source XML document.
3. Check target XML for resulting transformation.
