AMC - Has Java Usage Tracking changed in Java 8.0? (Doc ID 2400251.1)

Goal

Prior to Java 8.0, usage monitoring could be done with Java Usage Tracking.  A file entitled "com.oracle.usagetracker.logToUDP", and containing a link to a Usage Tracking server, would be placed into the \lib\management directory of a given JRE.  At the moment, Advanced Management Console (AMC) is not being considered to accomplish this function.  Is Usage tracking done differently in Java 8.0?
