RangeChangeListner No Longer Fires When Filter Is No Longer Applied

A MAF application has a bean-based Data Control which implements the RangeChangeListener for a list.
At runtime when a filter is applied on the lists, it results in few rows and RangeChange events are fired as expected when the user scrolls the list.
When the applied filter is disabled, the list does not fire RangeChange events any more.
