Coherence Proxy Servers at their Connection Limit will not Redirect Clients to other Proxy Servers. (Doc ID 2403475.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 11, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Coherence - Version 3.7.1.1 to 12.1.3.0.0 [Release AS10g to 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A Customer reported that when connections between extend client and proxy reached the value of "connection-limit" in "proxy-scheme", the client will attempt to redirect to next remote address. However, it could be verified that only URLs set within <remote-addresses> explicitly will be possible to redirect to. It does not match the point in below document page that expected to be possible to redirect to URLs of all nodes in the cluster.

When using proxy-based load balancing, clients are not required to list the full set of proxy service members in their cache configuration. However, a minimum of two proxy service members should always be configured for redundancy sake. See "Defining Multiple Remote Addresses" for details on how to define multiple remote addresses to be used by a client.
