Locally Deleted File Creates Check-In Failure in Desktop Integration Suite (DIS) Client (Doc ID 2403942.1)

Users are finding that if they locally delete a checked-out revision of a content item, via the DIS client interface, then open another copy of the same content item (and revision), check-in of the content item fails.  User will encounter one of two errors: 

Unable to retrieve information for <content item name>
Unable to retrieve information for <content item name>. Unable to find latest revision for item <content item name>.
