Extract Truncating The Column Data When Used With Coltest (Doc ID 2404502.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate - Version 12.1.2.1.10 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

While running extract with below mapping, due to @IF condition on <COLUMN NAME> it is
truncating the column data to 8 digits in the trail file. The column is
defined as NUMBER(10) in the database.

extract <EXT NAME>
USERID <USERNAME> password <PASSWORD>
reportcount every 15 minutes, rate
exttrail ./dirdat/e1
TARGETDEFS ./dirdef/table.def
TABLE <SCHEMA>.<TABLE NAME>, TARGET <SCHEMA>.<TABLE NAME> KEYCOLS(COLA)
COLMAP(USEDEFAULTS, COLB= @STRSUB(COLB,
'\x0d','','\x0a','','|',''), COLC = @STRSUB(COLC,
'\x0d','','\x0a','','|',''),COLD = @IF (@COLTEST (COLD, INVALID,
MISSING, NULL), 12, COLD));

Issue only reproduces when using the COLD in the colmap clause with the
IF condition. The colmap clause looks fine taken from the documentation link
(https://docs.oracle.com/goldengate/1212/gg-winux/GWURF/column_conversion_functions008.htm#GWURF763)
