Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks, issue of OVMM shown as unreachable in EMOC is noticed.

Because of this status of vServers is shown incorrectly in EMOC (status is either in SUSPENDED or DOWN status).

In EMOC BUI console, Oracle VM Manager status shown as 'Reachable : No' can be verified using below steps.

  1. Navigating to 'Administration' on the left hand side accordion
  2. Select 'Oracle VM Managers'
  3. Select the Oracle VM Manager Name listed in your setup
  4. Check the status of the property 'Reachable'
Should say 'Yes' in a normal working EMOC as seen below

Below is the screenshot of EMOC BUI for reference.

Changes

In this case the issue happened after recent credential changes to Exalogic components in a Virtual Exalogic using Exapasswd utility.

This issue can also happen if the OVM Manager Database is deleted and rebuilt and if TCPS configuration was not done.
