OUD 11g / 12c - Equality Search Filter for Entrydn Returns Duplicate Entries When Index Entry Limit is Exceeded
(Doc ID 2408560.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 20, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Unified Directory - Version 11.1.2.3.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
With the default index-entry-limit of 4000 on an OUD Directory Server instance, if the total number of entries exceeds 4000 (e.g. 5000), then the following equality search on the entrydn attribute will incorrectly return duplicate entries...
$ ldapsearch -h <host> -p <port> -D "cn=DS_ADMIN" -w <PASSWORD> -b "dc=SUFFIX_DN" "(entrydn=ou=BRANCH1,dc=SUFFIX_DN)"
dn: ou=BRANCH1,dc=SUFFIX_DN
ou: BRANCH1
objectClass: organizationalunit
objectClass: top
dn: ou=BRANCH1,dc=SUFFIX_DN
ou: BRANCH1
objectClass: organizationalunit
objectClass: top
If the total number of entries is below the configured index-entry-limit, then an equality search on entrydn will not return duplicate entries.
Changes
The total number of LDAP entries increased beyond the configured index-entry-limit.
