DIP - AD/OID Sync Profile Skipping AD USNs (Doc ID 2412301.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 09, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1.7.0 to 12.2.1.3.0 [Release 11g to 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using a DIP synch profile AD-OID, in which small values are used for "Update Search Count" and for "Search Delta size" (say 10 for each).

The dates are like this:
- Search Delta Size: 10
- Update Search Count: 10
- Last Change Number: 2000 <<< we want to fetch all changes starting with this USN
- highestCommitedUSN in AD is currently: 3000

--------> this is causing changes between 2110 and 3000 to be skipped, because the next run of the profile will start with 3000 instead of 2110

Note: The low values for "Update Search Count" and "Search Delta size" are just used to reproduce the problem.
The problem will occur always when the "Update Search Count" is reached and not all changes have been fetched so fare.

The log files show clearly, that the profile loops until "Update Search count" is reached and then it sets

causing all changes between 2110 and 3000 to be skipped, because the next run of the profile will start with 3000 instead of 2110.
