Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

AD Password Sync 11.1.1.5.0

One wants to use port different/separate port from OIM port for SPML Web Service in the AD PWD Syn Connector while configuring  "Port" in step 5 of "2.2.2 Reconfiguring the Connector" of connector guide as mentioned below:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. On the Oracle Identity Manager Configuration Parameters page, if required, modify values for any or all of the following parameters:
   Host
   Port
   OIM User Attribute
   OIM Application Server Type
   Use SSL
   Client Configuration Subject Name
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and Table 2-2 Oracle Identity Manager Configuration Parameters clearly states:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
   Parameter: Port
Description: Enter the number of the port at which the Oracle Identity Manager SPML Web service is listening. Sample value: 8080
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From above its clear that SPML Web Service uses oim port by default so one can try changing the OIM port from its current value if you want SMPL Web Service port to be changed too.

So one would need to change OIM port too if SPML port needs to be changed but here one wants to use separate port for SPML Web Service different than OIM port.
