(Doc ID 2417588.1)

Last updated on JUNE 29, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In a Windows 7 32-bit OS VMs for our development environment., when trying to install the latest JDeveloper, an error is received citing "Cannot launch the installer. error 555."

The files used to do the install are:
jdev_suite_122130_win64.exe and jdev_suite_122130_win64-2.zip

The system requirements (specifically for JDeveloper) found in the Fusion Middleware System Requirements and Specifications documentation seems to indicate JDeveloper 32 bit is supported, as it is included in the memory requirements as one of the options.

Is JDeveloper expected to work in a 32-bit Operating System?
