Symptoms

After enabling monitoring in GoldenGate 12.3.0.1.2 the process PMSRVR crashes with no errors

ogg_agent.log shows

[JAGENT] [ERROR] [OGGMON-20623] [com.goldengate.monitor.jagent.config.impl.AgentInfoImpl] [tid: main] [ecid: 0000MJCXCP^4ulC_vDx0iX1RLmku000001,0] Fail to get Web Service Port, java.lang.Exception: PM Server is down, please check



Enabling XML trace on PMSRVR shows -> "No such file or directory" type errors like

ERROR|ggrepo.bdb                    |Monitoring Thread| 1427 ggrepo/PersistenceBDB.cp | Error (dirbdb): Database 'status.db' open failed.: No such file or directory
ERROR|ggrepo.bdb                    |Monitoring Thread| 2313 ggrepo/PersistenceBDB.cp | Transaction in error, operation ignored
ERROR|ggnet.udpsocket             |main|  119 ggnet/UDPSocket.cpp      | UDPSocket SetAddress Failed. Error code is 1
ERROR|ggrepo.bdb                    |CollectorRouter-1| 1427 ggrepo/PersistenceBDB.cp | Error (dirbdb): Database 'procmap.db' open failed.: No such file or directory


To enable XML trace for PMSRVR

1.  Create a new file called -> $OGG_HOME/$OGG_HOME/gglog-pmsrvr.xml
with the following content:

<param name="MaxBackupIndex" value="9"/>
<param name="BufferedIO" value="false"/>

<param name="Pattern" value="%d{%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S} %-5p|%-30.30c|%t|%5L %-24.24C{2} | %m%n"/>
</layout>
</appender>
<root>
<level value="all"/>
<appender-ref name="myAppender"/>
</root>
</configuration>


2.  STOP all GoldenGate processes then start GoldenGate with the following steps:

start pmsrvr
start manager
start *
start jagent


3.  Once PMSRVR stops/crashes check trace file -> $OGG_HOME/gglog-pmsrvr*.log
content.

4.  Remove -> $OGG_HOME/$OGG_HOME/gglog-pmsrvr.xml
to disable PMSRVR XML trace.
