WFR is Extracting Unwanted Characters for a Newly Added Field to the Verifier Form (Doc ID 2429723.1)

Symptoms

Executing a back end query to validate an internal invoice type is returning nothing.  The invoice type has internal characters that is causing the query to not to retrieve a value.  When manually entering this same value in WebCenter Forms Recognition (WFR) Web Verifier, it is working as expected. 

How can this be resolved?

New fields have been added to the Verifier form linked to the Invoices Class.
