Inviting Non-Registered Users in WebCenter Portal Sends Email Notification With Malformed/Truncated Link to the Registration Page, and Clicking the Link Returns "Server not found" (Doc ID 2437475.1)

Symptoms

Inviting non-registered users in WebCenter Portal sends email notification with malformed/truncated link to the registration page. 

STEPS

Issue can be reproduced with the following steps: 

  1. Enable Shared Email in WebCenter Portal.

  2. Configure Self-Registration By Invitation in WebCenter Portal.

  3. Enable Self-Registration By Invitation-Only in WebCenter Portal.

  4. Create a Portal.
    e.g.: TestPortal1


  5. Configure the shared connection for the portal.

    • Go to: Manage -> All Settings in the Portal.

    • Click Settings.

    • On the Settings page, scroll down to the Attributes section, 

      then click Add Attribute..

    • Add the following attributes:
      collab.mail.compose.sharedConnectionName = SharedMailConnection
      notifications.use.mail.composer = true
    • Click Save.

  6. Invite a Non-Registered User.

    • Go to: Manage -> All Settings in the Portal.

    • Then click the Security Icon and then the Members Tab.

    • Click Options.

    • Edit the greeting messages as desired and click Save.

    • Click Invite People, then select Invite Non-Registered Users.

    • Enter an email address for one or more prospective members.
      Then select a role for the perspective member (e.g. Participant) 

      and click Invite.

    • A Pop-Up message saying "Invitation sent successfully to ..." is displayed.


  7. Check the email for the invited user.


    • You will see an email from GroupSpaceMailer with the following in the message body:
      Please click on the URL given below to register yourself.
      Register yourself..
    • Click the "Register yourself.." link for the email invitation.
      You will be redirected to the link but the browser will display:
      Server not found

    • On the "Server not found page" inspect the URL.

      Note the URL looks like this:
              http://mywebcen/oracle/webcenter/page/scopedMD/s8bba98ff_4cbb_40b8_beee_296c916a23ed/businessRolePages/AppSelfRegistration.jspx?...

      When it should be like this:
              http://mywebcenter.vm.oracle.com:9102/webcenter/portal/oracle/webcenter/page/scopedMD/s8bba98ff_4cbb_40b8_beee_296c916a23ed/businessRolePages/AppSelfRegistration.jspx?...
