"ODI-40447: This type is not valid datatype" Error Received after Manually Defining CLOB Datatype under ODI FILE Technology (Doc ID 2437965.1)

Symptoms

An Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c Mapping or ODI 11g Integration Interface, has been configured in ODI Studio in order to transfer data from a source text file to a target Oracle table where there is a requirement to convert one of the source text file columns to a CLOB datatype.

Per <Document 424012.1>, a CLOB datatype has been manually defined under the File Technology in ODI Studio.

However, when attempting to run the mapping mentioned above, the following error stack is received:

java.sql.SQLException: ODI-40447: This type is not valid datatype
