OUD 11g to 12c - How to Migrate or Upgrade using Export/Import Functionality (User Entry Data Only) (Doc ID 2444773.1)

All or some of the following, may be relevant to this type of Migration situation:

- Attempting to migrate from an 11g Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) Environment to a 12c Version setup, using the available Export/Import functionality, instead of the standard Upgrade functionality, referenced in the following Support Document:

OUD 12c: How to Upgrade an OUD 11g Instance to an OUD 12c Instance (Doc ID 2298388.1)

- This may be due to issues with the original 11g Environment, or because of a desire to move to newer hardware as part of the migration.

- In either case, if the Export/Import process is an acceptable option, this can be a safe migration method for the existing 11g setup, if it is preferred that the original 11g environment will remain basically untouched.

- There are, however, specific limitations and considerations for using this approach, which are covered in the solution section below.
