How to Configure Oracle Traffic Director to Force a Browser to Resolve an IP Address So As to Accept the Common_Name from an SSL Certificate (Doc ID 2449038.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 18, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Traffic Director - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

If an IP address is used in the browser instead of the Fully Qualified Host Name matching the Common_Name (CN) for a OTD server certificate you will get an error:

NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

Whereas this is a test setup and DNS does not have the Fully Qualified Host Name entry for this IP address, as yet.

Is there a way to resolve IP address used in the browser with Common_Name from SSL certificate?
