ODBC JDBC Bridge with ODI 12c and JDK 1.8 for Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access (Doc ID 2453429.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.2.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In older release of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), data could be loaded from Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access using the ODBC JDBC bridge built into Java and using the sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver driver.  Oracle removed the ODBC JDBC bridge in Java 1.8.

Recent releases of ODI, such as 12.2.1.2.6 no longer support earlier Java releases and Java 1.8 is required.

How to access to ODBC data sources such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access in order to load data using ODI?
