Goal
In older releases of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), data could be loaded from Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access using the ODBC-JDBC bridge built into Java and using the sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver driver. However, Oracle removed the ODBC-JDBC bridge in Java 1.8.
Starting with version 12.2.1.0.0, ODI no longer supports Java releases earlier than Java 8.
How can ODI be used to load data that requires access to ODBC data sources such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access?
