Integrating APEX 5.0 and Higher for SSO with Oracle Access Manager (OAM) & WebGate 12c Using ORDS with Weblogic Server (Doc ID 2457010.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Application Express (APEX) - Version 5.0.0.00 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The goal is to configure Single Sign-On (SSO) for APEX 5.0+ running with ORDS in Oracle Weblogic Server (WLS) using OAM & Webgate 12c.

Note that APEX consists of objects in the DB such as tables, views, packages, jobs, etc.  SSO protection for APEX involves protection of the access method/url used to call APEX applications. Since there are a number of different methods to access APEX, there are also a number of ways to configure APEX with Single Sign On (SSO).

However, the Oracle supported/recommended method is to use Oracle Access Manager (OAM), Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) with Webgate, Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) and Oracle Weblogic Server which is what is documented here.
