Ability to Process XPath Expression Defining Root Element in ODI XML Data Server (Doc ID 2457468.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 15, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Does Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) have the ability to process XPath expressions defining root elements in an ODI Extensible Markup Language (XML) Data Server?

1. Messages ingested into DataWareHouse (DWH) are aggregated into one file per half hour and enclosed in <root> element
2. Modifying XSD and processing half hour of all messages would not be efficient as whole file would need to be mapped in one go.
3. Splitting aggregated messages into single file per message is also not an option as we have to process 10TB of historical data and splitting step would be too expensive.
4. ODI requires that root element to be processed is also root element of XML file.
