Purpose

This note is intended to provide a very basic guide for the installation of the User Messaging Service (UMS).  The UMS component was formerly part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) product but was included with the WebLogic Fusion Middleware (FMW) Infrastructure installation in version 12c.  

Scope

This document is to provide an introductory, basic set of instructions for installing and configuring UMS for use with OAM as an email  server for deliver of One Time Passwords (OTP).  A similar process can be used to configure UMS as an SMS messaging server, however that configuration is not within the scope of this document.
