Last updated on MARCH 27, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Access Manager - Version 11.1.2.3.180717 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

We have successfully applied the following patches on our OAM environment:
* OAM: Patch 27897816: OAM BUNDLE PATCH 11.1.2.3.180717
* WLS: Patch 27919965: WLS PATCH SET UPDATE 10.3.6.0.180717
* jdk-7u99-linux-x64

IDM Suite 11.1.2.3.180717

This has been done on the following environments:
* TEST: 1 node OK
* UAT: 2 nodes (cluster) OK
* PRD: 2 nodes - no problems on node1 , node2 is throwing the ClassCastException - OK on 1 node only!

When applying the OAM patch 27897816 on the second node in our PRD env, we are experiencing problems.
Our BI and Siebel applications which are authentication through our OAM are not working anymore.
The following errors are seen in the oam_server2.our:

(thread=DistributedCache, member=4): An Exception occurred during index update for key 70a96b72-0f91-4dde-a150-0f8c4d7282e1|wSDy5KZFXrbmN7HCxxy1KIdkHyM=. The entry will be excluded from the index for cache oracle.ngam.sme.SmeNearCache.
>
(thread=DistributedCache, member=4): (Wrapped) java.io.IOException: readObject failed: java.lang.ClassCastException: java.util.ArrayList cannot be cast to java.util.concurrent.CopyOnWriteArrayList
at oracle.security.am.engines.common.identity.util.OAMIdentity.readExternal(OAMIdentity.java:899)
at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readExternalData(ObjectInputStream.java:1839)
at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readOrdinaryObject(ObjectInputStream.java:1796)

When we rollback the OAM patch, and start OAM again, the errors are not there anymore and the applications are working again.
