SiteMinder Login Not Working When Using OAM Identity Asserter (Doc ID 2463885.1)

Symptoms

SSO into OBIEE 12c is not working if  Siteminder is the Identity provider and OAM Identity Asserter is being used to assert the siteminder token.

Login to /analytics application redirects to login Page again. In the log files we would error OAMAP-60505:Found an unsupported token type and below trace:
