Please provide steps to make the token changes from SM_USER to SMUSER

We would like implement SSO using OAMIdentityAssertor and the Active Types available is SM_USER, but the token expected from our SiteMinder end is SMUSER. We would like to know the steps to make the token changed from SM_USER to SMUSER.

We tried header method and it did not work. Is this possible?
